The captain of Morocco’s national team, Romain Ghanem Paul Saïss, was born on March 26, 1990, in Morocco. He represents Süper Lig team Beşiktaş as a defender.
Saïss began his career playing for Valence, then moved on to Le Havre, Clermont, and Angers in Ligues 1 and 2, until signing with Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2016. He made 206 appearances before moving to Beşiktaş in 2021 and scored 15 goals.
Saïss, who has played for Morocco on a full-time basis since 2019, has more than 60 caps under his belt. He competed for his nation in two Africa Cup of Nations events and three FIFA World Cups.
